Gin Bar Stump

For this project we were asked to make a bar for a woodland themed Gin launch. The inspiration came from a Redwood stump, which could be walked inside and used as a bar. We had to overcome weight and logistical problems, so we came up with peeling the bark off of Macrocarpa tree bodies we had in the yard seasoning. We painstakingly over laid the bark and sustainable sourced moss over a metal frame, wire and expanding foam, to create buttes roots of a mighty tree. We then topped the bar with an Oak curved top, so it looked like a 5 meter wide stump had grown out of the floor in the exhibition hall.

For the finished look we also supplied bark and wood chip, logs and branches.
